Organizations have long
felt the disconnect that exists between IT and Legal.
Few in-house attorneys understand the technical
intricacies of IT, and few IT professionals fully
understand the complexity of procedural and discovery
rules in the context of litigation. As demonstrated by
recent case law, this disconnect can determine whether
counsel achieves success or faces sanctions when
approaching electronic discovery. This session will
discuss what your company can do to begin bridging the
gap between IT and Legal to create a more productive
and efficient environment. This discussion will also
include how to reach across the aisle when creating
and enforcing document retention policies and
e-discovery strategies, issuing litigation holds, and
following other best practices to avoid sanctions. |
